What do you do at church? in fellowship?

March 62010

Hi. I’m inviting a good friend of mine to church, she’s a nonbeliever. I’ve already explained everything we usually do. She doesn’t believe me, could you guys just briefly explain the stuff you ppl do at church? She’s going to view this question later to make sure I’m not lying. Thanks you guys.
I’m christian, and it’s a baptist church.

My church is my 2nd family, and actually my family are unbelievers so its really a hard thing because I think I am closer to my church family than to my real family (mom and dad and bros etc).

Anyways we do everything together, kids birthdays together, dinners, lots of phone conversations, we have smaller house group bible studies throughout the week- I go to a women’s group wednesday mornings and then we have another family study group on Tuesday nights.

If I ever need anything, someone to pick up one of my kids from school cause im running late, or I ran out of gas and need help, or need a ride to the airport, or oh once our basement flooded and some of our friends from church came and brought everything up into the garage for us- any time we need something we are there for each other.

As far as at church we usually have coffee and donuts and catch up on how things are going. Its pretty laid back and friendly.

Hope that helps! God bless!!

they pretty much talk about how flying spaghetti monster is the bestest thing since corn dogs and that christians are all his slaves.
Oh, and they also discuss new ways to be hypocrites.

Each church is different.. if you said which denomination, it may help with a more accurate answer.

Ok well you see, there’s this ring, and those who have sworn to protect it, are called The Fellowship of The Ring.

It was Bilbo’s ring, but he gave it , reluctantly , to his nephew Frodo, at Gandalfs urging.

Gandalf is a wise and learned father figure with a white beard.

    Sauron is an evil entity.

    Hmmm what else.

Not sure what else you want to know…

Im a baptist and have been to a few different churchs of different denonimations… but usually the service starts off with Singing(praise and worship) then there is often a time to greet people before the pastor comes up and talks(gives his message), after he prays and you usually gives a time where u can come down to the alter if you feel something burdening your heart… and a lot of services end with a singing

Church is the best way to show honor and humility to our creator; to demonstrate one-ness as a community serving God. Such a glorious gift of life to be able to know and praise Him defies description. Run, don’t walk, to your house of worship!

As Catholics we pull up a chair at the last supper and share the gift our Lord provided, the Body & Blood of Jesus.

All of the Mass is directed toward our Lord, it is where Jesus said:

"Do this in memory of me"

    God bless’

    1. Sing a few songs

    2. Prayer points and talk of what’s been happening in some peoples lives in the church (newly weds, baby’s, how someone who is sick is going, missionaries of the church, etc) – EDIT: about here is communion & tithing.

    3. Scripture reading to introduce the sermon

    4. Sermon

    5. Song or two

    6. End. Chatting with people

    7. Coffee and cake/biscuits and more chatting/catching up

I’m Brethren (not ‘closed’) – kinda close to Baptist

Well, it would be helpful if I knew which church you are attending. The Catholic Church is VERY different in worship and fellowship than say a Pentecostal church.
First they will ask you to run through the church naked and announce who you are LOUDLY!!! .. Naah just kidding. SMILE The people are very friendly at most churches. They will welcome you. Ask you to fill out a visitors card. So they can mail you a letter inviting you back again.
Most churches will have a alter call if you need prayer or want to receive Jesus as your savior. "YOU DON’T HAVE TO GO" if you don’t want to.
You should bring a couple bucks for the offering plate. Again you dont have to.
If you feel like the Preacher man is Preaching directly to you or at you don’t worry he is not. It seems like that sometimes when God is trying to get a message to you.
Hope your experience is a awesome one. Don’t forget I was kidding about the naked part..LOL!
    God Bless

The best part of my baptist church is worship. we worship God through fellowship, through the music and reading the bible and listening to the pastor preach. if we have been worshiping God all week in our lives then we are going to worship God better. I love to go to church and love the fellowship of believers and the music and preaching of Gods word.
    thanks for your question!!
