ooo… you should read frost’s and hirsch’s new book, ReJesus… its all about that. Its about how we often lose our focus on Jesus and they talk about how Jesus is the center of mission and if He isn’t then there is no point.

Jesus is the way the truth and the life. You are right, he’s not an organizing principle. He is a person, and is God. I find it interesting that missional is such a center rather than the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit as well as scripture.

I guess Jesus isn’t the principle of the church because he’s not a principle–he’s a person. He’s the foundation of the church. But it’s the mission of Jesus that is the organizing priniciple of the church.
