This occurs when the body of Christ becomes more socially contemporary and when the prerequisite for leadership position within church is a degree from an institution of higher learning, rather than the manifestation a higher call from God, the traits of Jesus Christ, and His description of true faith. Because most modern churches value social status, instead of the fingerprint of God, all believers are besieged with having to fight the kingdom of darkness inside AND outside the fellowship. Surely there are tares among the wheat. (Matt. 13) The effects have been major, but God has ordained strength and victory belongs to Jesus Christ. We must go in and possess the land that we inherited through His sacrifice. The war is on.

Mat 13:25 But while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat, and went his way.

1Co 5:11 But now I have written unto you not to keep company, if any man that is called a brother be a fornicator, or covetous, or an idolater, or a railer, or a drunkard, or an extortioner; with such an one no not to eat.

The music ministry at Fellowship was made famous by the late Sis. Rilma “Kathy” Thibodeaux. Sis. Thibodeaux served as the Minister of Music of Fellowship for over two decades; and was also one of its charter members.

This pictoral memorial was shown at her homegoing service.

Here is her obituary, as it appeared in the Home News Tribune:

“Elna Marie Frey went home to be with the Lord on Good Friday, March 21, 2008. She was 85.

She was born in Manhattan and moved to Woodbridge in 1930. She graduated from Woodbridge High School in 1941.

She was a founding member of Fellowship Bible Church in Woodbridge, founded in 1948, and continued faithful membership to the time of her passing. She was deeply involved in the church’s ministry, having taught Pioneer Clubs, Sunday School, and Vacation Bible School for parts of six decades. She received a Lifetime Achievement Award from Woodbridge Mayor John E. McCormac in January, 2007 commemorating her service to the church and to the Woodbridge community. At the same ceremony, the church’s fellowship hall was named in her honor.

She was predeceased by her husband, Rudolph, in 2002.

She is survived by one sister, AnnStina Moody of Elmsford, NY; two daughters, Judy Bellamy and her husband Robert of Ballston Spa, NY; Roberta DeVizia and her husband Louis of Woodbridge, NJ; one son, Randy Frey and his wife Maureen of Clifton Park, NY; and seven beloved grandchildren.

Viewings will be held at the Costello-Greiner Funeral Home of Woodbridge on Tuesday, March 25 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A service will be held at Fellowship Bible Church, corner of Ridgedale & East Prospect Aves., Woodbridge, on Wednesday, March 26 at 11 a.m.”
