Elna Frey, faithful servant of the Lord Jesus Christ for over 60 years and my mother-in-law for almost 14, went home to be with the Lord on Good Friday, March 21, 2008. This pictoral memorial was shown at her homegoing service.
Here is her obituary, as it appeared in the Home News Tribune:
“Elna Marie Frey went home to be with the Lord on Good Friday, March 21, 2008. She was 85.
She was born in Manhattan and moved to Woodbridge in 1930. She graduated from Woodbridge High School in 1941.
She was a founding member of Fellowship Bible Church in Woodbridge, founded in 1948, and continued faithful membership to the time of her passing. She was deeply involved in the church’s ministry, having taught Pioneer Clubs, Sunday School, and Vacation Bible School for parts of six decades. She received a Lifetime Achievement Award from Woodbridge Mayor John E. McCormac in January, 2007 commemorating her service to the church and to the Woodbridge community. At the same ceremony, the church’s fellowship hall was named in her honor.
She was predeceased by her husband, Rudolph, in 2002.
She is survived by one sister, AnnStina Moody of Elmsford, NY; two daughters, Judy Bellamy and her husband Robert of Ballston Spa, NY; Roberta DeVizia and her husband Louis of Woodbridge, NJ; one son, Randy Frey and his wife Maureen of Clifton Park, NY; and seven beloved grandchildren.
Viewings will be held at the Costello-Greiner Funeral Home of Woodbridge on Tuesday, March 25 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A service will be held at Fellowship Bible Church, corner of Ridgedale & East Prospect Aves., Woodbridge, on Wednesday, March 26 at 11 a.m.”

Rilma Thibodeaux and the Fellowship Music Department hosted her childhood friend, Sis. Helen J. H. Stephens, currently of California. Sis. Stephen’s is a world-famous gospel choir director, pianist, and composer/arranger. This is in 1997 and the selection is “Blessed Be the Name of the Lord”.
At the 1998 Annual Musical of the Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church in New Orleans, LA. Sis Sophie Holloway of the Pleasant Valley B.C. sang “In the Garden”
