So if I want to be a Christian I should avoid churches altogether, including Christian fellowship?

I consider myself to be a Christian, and I will NEVER go to another church again in my life! I have had terrible experiences with all of them. Mostly a bunch of people who want to say they are perfect and point out your faults. I think God is in your heart. Peace.

Heb 10:25 Let us not give up meeting together. Some are in the habit of doing this. Instead, let us cheer each other up with words of hope. Let us do it all the more as you see the day coming when Christ will return.
Some people’s opposition to local churches is NOT a Biblical position. They have to twist the interpretation of scripture to justify it.
It is not good exegesis.
1Jn 1:6 Suppose we say that we share life with God but still walk in the darkness. Then we are lying. We are not living by the truth. 7 But suppose we walk in the light, just as he is in the light. Then we share life with one another. And the blood of Jesus, his Son, makes us pure from all sin.
John here links our continuing forgiveness to FELLOWSHIP, that is, "share(-ing) life with one another."

no, you dont need to avoid anything. the choice is yours. the bible doesnt say we MUST go to church or we MUST have fellowship with other christians. however it does recommend fellowship with other christians to help your relationship with God. to get a better understanding of the Bible. (but i dont agree at all with churches.)

Do whatever you feel led to do, God looks at your heart not what you do or don’t do. Think about it this way, an usher in the church is a "great, kind, loving and honorable man" everybody says. Well at home he is a drunkard and abuses his wife. Outside works doesn’t always construe a good heart, that is why God warns us of the "wolf in sheeps clothing" Our hearts is what God judges, not man and their naive interpretations.

Who would ever advise such foolishness? Does not Christ Himself command, "Love one another as I have loved you."? So, would you be a Christian if you avoid your friends, enemies, and neighbors and a place of worship with a community of believers to encourage and love you? The question you propose makes no sense. How would you ever come to such a conclusion?

Attending a church isn’t a requirement for salvation – only a personal relationship with Jesus is needed for that. Fellowship with other believers is encouraged because it helps people grow in their faith and if you stumble someone is there to help you up (Ecclesiastes 4:10 – If one falls down, his friend can help him up. But pity the man who falls and has no one to help him up!)
Plus it is a joy to be surrounded by others who share your faith – group worship is a very encouraging and inspirational experience.

I call myself a spiritualist, the whole world is my church. Once in a while I might attend a service, but I don’t believe in organized religion. Believe in the good, fight the evil, be kind to everyone regardless of what they believe.

No. Attending Christian churches and fellowship is a way of being in relation with God and other Christians. It’s a way of learning and growing. It’s a way of helping others.
