Did mankind solve God’s loneliness problem?

March 22010

I have heard a number of theologians (e.g., Rabbi Pinchas Peli) say that God wanted "fellowship", and that’s why he made humans.

But if you wanted fellowship, wouldn’t you want it with someone like you? I need the fellowship of other English-speaking humans, ideally around my age group. Humans are so far below God, it would be like us creating a world full of puppies for companionship, instead of other humans.

We are made in his image, but that’s not saying much. We are flawed, sinful, non-omnipotent, we smell bad and have to pee every few hours, we aren’t invisible, can’t fly, can’t communicate with "thought-waves" with each other, we’re forgetful, and most of us find church boring.

Why would God want that kind of companionship?

Why does everyone have to go by a book written thousands of years ago and 400 years after Christ?

Because God made love. He is the ulitmate love machine, guru, and you know anything else with love. He made us in his own image and gave us free will so that we could come to him and love him.

I hear the voice of a spirit that claims to be God.

That is not why He created us. He created us to watch us.

God was not lonely. He and the Son were in perfect harmony along with the Holy Spirit before creation.

Good point. The Rabbi was wrong.

He already had fellowship. The triune Godhead (Father, Son, and Holy Spirit) existed before time. God already had fellowship within Himself. The reason he created us for fellowship is a little more like our desire to have children. It’s the love of a creation.

God made us all perfect, but only in our eyes are we not perfect. I wish I knew why we were made in the first place, but I am not sure.

Because God is nothing more than a propaganda puppet created by Man and perpetuated by the Catholic church (and now every church) to control human beings and explain the reason for existence because when it comes down to it, none of us really know he is real, do we? If so, please provide physical proof before thumbs downing me. TY!

Firstly let me say I love how you worded your question, very funny. Now in response to your question, I will point to a couple of things. Firstly, opposites attract. Secondly, who wouldn’t want multiple puppies for companionship. Thirdly, that’s a bad comparison because, we are children of YHWH(God) not his pets. Fourthly, you can answer this question by asking a father why he had children and if they were planned it would answer the question. Also I’m sure YHWH is definitely not lonely anymore look how many people talk about Him and pray to Him. Although YHWH did not create us out of boredom, or to have perfect companions. It doesn’t matter that we aren’t perfect. Because, if you have a child he is in your likeness, but can’t do all you can do and definitely will disappoint you at times. But your love would not falter. There is my response.

that relationship was there in the Garden, but Adam gave it up from one act of disobedience.

We can have it back, and God gave His only Son so that relationship can be restored. Jesus paid the price for disobedience, for the chance to redeem you to return what was once lost.
Strange, but I can talk to God on His level (1 Corinthians 14:2)
I believe that is a nice start for communication, when He can give us the ability to talk to Him on His level.
The rest is up to us. Would you feel welcome if you are not wanted?

    Same goes with God.

1 Samuel 16:7 "The Lord does not look at the things man looks at. Man looks at outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart."….

Doesn’t matter if u smell bad or if ur flawed, God just communicates with those who are humble, holy and pure for it is written in Matthew 5:8 "Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God."…
