How many of you will participate in a communion and foot washing tonight at your church?
December 302009
We have Lovefeast tonight at our church and I am wondering how many of you do this at your church? We begin with a fellowship meal followed by the washing of one another’s feet and communion. It’s a wonderful time to remember and to reflect and be grateful for what Christ did for us.
We do this to "serve one another in love".
The Church I been attending has foot washing and communion.
I don’t participate in foot washing, but I believe it is scriptural.

The footwashing thing is a bit strange. I find it reminiscent of circle jerks at the boy scout camp but perhaps that’s just me…
No I don’t have plans like this. I am taking my friend’s kids to the science museum this afternoon.

Oh, that will be popular… : P
If only people would put this crap into practice, instead of only participating in out-of-context, meaningless rituals.
Modern Christianity has nothing but nothing in common with the image painted by Jesus in the Bible.
"I am Christian but I would not wash some strangers feet!"
So in other words, it´s good enough for Jesus Christ, but not for you. Good to hear! : ))

I have a relative who indulges in this. She said that it is a miraculous event, however I fail to see the importance of God in it. The whole idea is to make you feel humbled. I don’t need to wash anyone’s feet or have mine washed to feel anything about God and/or to add to what I already believe. The Bible does not say, "Do this in remembrance of me" wash each others feet!!! No that is what the cracker and wine is passed for. In remembrance of the Son. And that was the only remembrance that was suppose to be acknowledged.
