A punch recipe for a children’s luau party?

March 102010

My sister’s birthday party is tomorrow, and we’ve been planning and gathering stuff for the party for months, but tonight while making the last minute arrangements mom and I realized we’d completely forgotten about punch. Now, what she wants is something red, tropical-looking, and (obviously) non-alcoholic…the last thing we need is a bunch of drunk 12 and 13 year olds in a church fellowship hall.

4 quarts cold water
2 (12 ounce) cans frozen orange juice concentrate, thawed
1 (12 ounce) can frozen lemonade concentrate, thawed
1/2 cup sugar
1 (2 liter) bottle red cream soda, chilled

In a large punch bowl or several pitchers, combine the water, concentrates and sugar; stir until sugar is dissolved. Refrigerate for 2 hours or until chilled. Just before serving, stir in the cream soda.

How can I create better lighting for my wedding reception?

March 82010

I am having my wedding reception in my church fellowship hall and the lighting there is 100% fluorescent. The reception is scheduled to start around 6:00 pm. I would like to just keep these lights off and use something else, but I am not sure what to use that could light the whole room without using too many different fixtures. I would like it to look more "romantic". The hall is not all that big, just very open. Any ideas would be appreciated…

After Christmas clearance sales on strings of mini white lights could solve your problem. Put them in silk trees, behind tulle that’s draped beautifully on the walls, or from a canopy on the ceiling. It’s all light weight and could be hung without damage to the walls and ceiling.

If you happen upon some battery operated white lights, those would be good to add to the table centerpieces.

To know how many you need, you might take the lights to the hall, plug them all in and see how much light they give off with the room lights off. You will probably need several strands depending on the size of the room.

What do you do at church? in fellowship?

March 62010

Hi. I’m inviting a good friend of mine to church, she’s a nonbeliever. I’ve already explained everything we usually do. She doesn’t believe me, could you guys just briefly explain the stuff you ppl do at church? She’s going to view this question later to make sure I’m not lying. Thanks you guys.
I’m christian, and it’s a baptist church.

My church is my 2nd family, and actually my family are unbelievers so its really a hard thing because I think I am closer to my church family than to my real family (mom and dad and bros etc).

Anyways we do everything together, kids birthdays together, dinners, lots of phone conversations, we have smaller house group bible studies throughout the week- I go to a women’s group wednesday mornings and then we have another family study group on Tuesday nights.

If I ever need anything, someone to pick up one of my kids from school cause im running late, or I ran out of gas and need help, or need a ride to the airport, or oh once our basement flooded and some of our friends from church came and brought everything up into the garage for us- any time we need something we are there for each other.

As far as at church we usually have coffee and donuts and catch up on how things are going. Its pretty laid back and friendly.

Hope that helps! God bless!!

Satan Worship inside the church. Many men are involved in it

February 272010

Are Masonry and Christianity able to exist together. The S.B.C. says no, but does nothing to correct the fact that thousands of men in their convention are Masons. Hireling pastors are to cowardly to preach against Masonry for fear of loosing their “job”. How will men know that Masonry is an evil association filled with occult symbols, and blasphemy, if we don’t expose it. If they are truly converted, they will choose to leave it, if they are warned about its occult influence.

Has anyone heard of an MFI Church (Ministers Fellowship International)?

February 262010

I wondered if this group of Christian fundamentalist churches was something that was known of, or if it was too small. Have you ever heard of it at any point?

I was trained in their college, and attended 2 of of their churches when I used to be a Christian. But I don’t refer to the type of church I attended by name, as I don’t think anyone’s heard of it. So just wondered if anyone had.

Nope, 2 points
