What has happened to unity in the churches today?

February 222010

Episcopal Church Loses 3rd Diocese :

NEW YORK – A third theologically conservative diocese has broken away from the liberal Episcopal Church in a long-running dispute over the Bible, gay relationships and other issues.

The Diocese of Quincy, Ill., took the vote at its annual meeting that ended Saturday.

Two other dioceses — San Joaquin, based in Fresno, Calif., and Pittsburgh — have already split off. Next weekend, the Diocese of Fort Worth, Texas, will vote whether to follow suit.

The three breakaway dioceses are aligning with the like-minded Anglican Province of the Southern Cone, based in Argentina, to try to keep their place in the world Anglican Communion. The 77-million-member Anglican fellowship, which includes the U.S. Episcopal Church, has roots in the missionary work of the Church of England.

When they don’t know the Truth, there is nothing to hold them together, so they begin to fall apart!

Is the episcopla Church a real church or a cult? any question about the the bible says on homosexuality?

February 202010

Episcopalians on Friday authorized bishops to bless same-sex unions and research an official prayer for the ceremonies, capping a meeting that moved the church closer to accepting gay relationships despite turmoil over the issue in the Anglican family.

The Episcopal General Convention also underscored the church’s desire to remain a full member of the global Anglican Communion. But the actions at the national assembly are likely to damage the already strained relations within the fellowship.

Delegates voted earlier this week to effectively drop a pledge that they would act with "restraint" when considering any more openly gay candidates for bishop.

The Episcopal gay advocacy group Integrity said the church "turned an important corner" with the vote.

They’re a church. But actually all churches are cults. But you’re going for that derogatory term that people want to use on Churches and things they don’t agree with.

Frankly, I dislike the whole idea of a church who blatantly ignores what the scriptures state in regard to homosexuality. It’s obvious that it strikes a nerve in other people as well.

It could be me, but do Church "Traditionalists" ever smile?

February 162010

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/8134797.stm
‘A traditionalist Anglican group has warned the issue of homosexuality could split the Church of England the way the Episcopal Church has done in the US.

The Fellowship of Confessing Anglicans will be launched in the UK on Monday.

The group has campaigned against active homosexuality in the Anglican Communion after being established last year.

One supporter, the Bishop of Rochester, the Right Reverend Michael Nazir-Ali, told the Sunday Telegraph homosexuals should "repent and be changed". ‘
The thumbs seem to be broken again.
BR – Nobody is all bad, but I wouldn’t cite that as an example of good.

Yes they do. I have a couple of Christian friends and a Christian daughter and they all smile. I think the Bishop of Rochester and the Right Reverend Michael Nazir-Ali should just mind their own business about homosexuality and live their own lives. Why should they think they have any right to interfere? I feel sure that few would choose to be homosexual, with all of the troubles it brings them. My neighbour is homosexual and has been beaten up just for existing and he is one of the nicest men I know. People who are breaching in the way they are make the problem worse for men like my friend/neighbour.
