I jae a girlfriend that I’ve been dating for a long time, and she said shes a Mormon, I wanted to know the difference between the two religions

Big difference. I’ve been on both sides so let me break it down for you.

As a Mormon, Jae cannot pray to Jesus. Mormons teach this because they relegated Jesus to a created being, like an angel, same species, who grew to become a God, the expectation is that she, if she is "true and faithful" (read: obedient to Mormon leaders, ordinances, and laws) will become a God.

Jae prays to a Heavenly Father who, according to the LDS founding prophet Joseph Smith, was ‘once a man like us." He went on to say that knowing this is essential to salvation. So attempts by Mormons to disavow this simply don’t hold water.

Jae has been taught since she could understand human speech that if she doesn’t marry a worthy Mormon man in an LDS temple, she gives us the chance to live eternally with Father in Heaven, become a God in her own right, and settle for an eternity with Jesus. That’s a big reason LDS couples split, is when one decides its all a bunch of crap, the other is left in the "under perform" category of spiritual progression because she can’t be a God without her husband.

Jae has also been taught that in LDS temples, she receives essential ordinances for salvation in the highest or Celestial kingdom. I was a certified worker in an LDS temple. I know the rituals well. In them she will promise no less than five times to keep everything said there secret, twice that she gives all she has or will have to the LDS church. She is taught secret handshakes that allow her to pass by angels in the life hereafter. Even the most faithful Mormons view all this as really weird until they keep going back.

Quick side note: Mormons also promise to avoid all loud laughter and light mindedness among other things. Satan comes on and explains that if the people who make these covenants, if they don’t walk up to them completely, they are in his power. Creepy.

BTW, anything I’m saying here can be found in LDS scripture. Please reach out if you want references.

If you choose to join Mormonism, you will trade the righteousness you have in Christ for a works-based salvation. The thinking is, Jesus put salvation within reach but you must do "all you can" or, well you under perform spiritually and must face the consequence of similar law breakers. Paul was clear that to replace the gospel of grace through faith with law was cursed. Please don’t trade the free gift of salvation for a law-based salvation.

BTW, I’m a fifth generation Mormon who served faithfully for many years before finally being saved from the weirdness of Mormonism. Very glad to be out and walking in a Biblically-based faith. Huge difference.

has anyone ever attended any of the unity fellowship Churches in the US i know its a Church for people of color who are gay lesbians bisexual trans gender i’m just curious to know what kind of church i know its a Protestant but as far as the teachings and the way they praise, i just came out and i’m looking for a church to go to i’m used to a Pentecostal/apostolic way of praising(shouting, dancing) i’m also used to the strictness so can anyone tell me their experience
pentecostal COGIC church

The Church of God in Christ (COGIC) is an historically African-American Holiness-Pentecostal church. The church has congregations in nearly 60 countries around the world. With a membership of over 5 million in 2007, it is the largest African-American and largest Pentecostal church in the United States. The Church of God in Christ (COGIC) was formed in 1897 by a group of Baptists, most notably Charles Price Jones (1865–1949) and Charles Harrison Mason (1866–1961), who broke fellowship with the Baptists over the doctrine of Holiness. Mason became associated with a group of men who would become the early African-American leaders of the Holiness movement in the late 19th century.

An examination of the statement of faith from COGIC’s official homepage reveals that the group holds to many of the traditional doctrines of Christianity such as the inspiration and infallibility of Scripture, the triune nature of God, repentance and faith in Christ for the remission of sins, the rapture of the church, and regeneration of the Spirit necessary for salvation. However, other doctrines held by COGIC are at odds with traditional, biblical Christianity: healing of the body in answer to believing prayer; the baptism of the Holy Spirit in response to prayer separate from salvation; and the ability to live a holy and separated life in the present world. Each of these beliefs is contrary to the revealed Word of God, as explained in the articles on the Got Questions site linked above.

There is no doubt the COGIC churches and headquarters are involved in many wonderful ministries, to the African-American community in particular, including global outreach, prison ministry, urban outreach and health/wellness. But as with all groups in the Holiness movement, they adhere to Latter Rain teachings which depart from Scripture. We do not question the faith of COGIC members, nor do we doubt the sincerity of their love for Jesus Christ. Due to some important doctrinal differences, though, we cannot recommend COGIC churches as good, biblical churches.

COGIC isn’t a homosexual church. You may be thinking of the Unitarian Church which does not believe in the trinity.

If you mean "What is the difference between a UU Fellowship and a Christian Church?", the big one is UUs don’t have to believe in the three-headed God that Emperor Constantine invented in Nicaea in 325. (He thought his pagan subjects would be more comfortable with a Trinity than not, and he wanted them to convert.) Also the Christians sing better, usually, but have duller conversations.

Read more about Nicaea, if you like:
http://www.uuftc.org/sermons/s2008_11_09.html

If you mean "What’s the difference between a UU Fellowship and a UU Church?", the answer is "Sometimes not much."

Churches tend to have a minister. UU Ministers have a Master’s of Divinity, which means they start out with a bachelor’s in something, then go to seminary for 3 -4 years afterwards. Of the two I know the best, one had a BS and a teaching credential before she went for the MDiv, the other was a lawyer. They get REALLY upset when you confuse them with Universal Life, which ordains anyone instantly, since UUs sweat blood to get ordained.

Fellowships tend to be lay led, smaller and younger. (There is a UU church in Maine that recently celebrated its 300th anniversary. It started out Unitarian.)

BUT – I belong to a UU Fellowship that has 135 members and a minister. We haven’t changed our name. We’re rare and special in many ways, but in general, UU fellowships that grow large enough to have a permanent minister don’t usually change their names. AND, churches that shrink so much they have to start using a lay leader tend not to change their name either.

As a side note, ministers earn much more than lay leaders; most are full-time, or at least don’t have another job. Most lay leaders have regular week-day jobs, so they don’t do as much in the way of counseling, visiting the sick, serving on faith-based community committees, etc. as ministers do.

In general, a congregation’s budget is a function of its members; more members, more money.

I left church altogether as I had enough and heard enough people misleading and misinforming me about god geez

No, you do not have to attend any church to fellowship with God.

1) To fellowship with God means to talk to Him. Pray, meditate on scripture, and worship Him in your thoughts and deeds.

3) Church is fellowship with other believers.
