They are current military officers, many of them commanders with authority over large numbers of service members and even entire bases and larger commands.

Their stated goal is to turn the U.S. military into a force of “government paid missionaries for Christ” and “evangelize and disciple all enlisted members of the U.S. military" and "to raise up a spiritually transformed military, with ambassadors for Christ in uniform, empowered by the Holy Spirit.”

Is this another example of Christians flouting the Constitution, and will they scream that there is a war on Christianity if atheists and stop them?

Or is it something you are in favor of?

It sounds unconstitutional, creepy, and dangerous.

Jews for Jesus is a single Christian ministry which attempts to convert Jews to Christianity.
The term is often used generically for Jewish converts to Christianity who try to retain some cultural trappings of their Judaism.
Leaders of these groups are often ordained Christian ministers who are specifically trained in techniques for converting vulnerable Jews. Members of these groups deceptively use Jewish symbols (such as Stars of David) and language so as to appear Jewish, their goal is to take Jews away from Judaism and to bring them into the Christian Church.
Jews for Jesus actually considers itself an arm of the evangelical church.

A number of Christian denominations have condemned the deceptive and aggressive nature of groups like Jews for Jesus.
The Roman Catholic Church, liberal Protestant churches, interdenominational study groups and interfaith councils worldwide have taken a stand against this form of proselytizing which does a disservice to both faith systems.

Other Christian individuals and groups have been less sensitive to Jewish community concerns and continue to spend hundreds of millions of dollars annually to convert Jews to Christianity.
Most of the missionary and conversionary groups are affiliated with fundamentalist Protestant denominations.

Jewish understanding of salvation simply is different from that of Christianity and so the question of evangelization of Jews boils down to a question of whether or not Christians have the right to try to convince Jews that their version of salvation is preferable to the one Jews have already. Jews and Christians worship the same God — the God who made covenant with Israel. Should Christians then try to convince Jews to worship God in the Christian way, with the Christian goal (salvation) in mind, instead of the Jewish way, with the Jewish goal (obedience) in mind? Many Christians think so; many do not. In each case the response hangs on a critical interpretation of Christian identity.

Those Christians who would convert Jews firmly believe it is the divinely mandated mission of the church to preach the Gospel to them — as well as everyone else — for the sake of Jews themselves, for their salvation. According to this view, Christians would be false to their faith if they failed to bring Jews into the Christian fellowship.

On the other hand, there are Christians who are just as firmly convinced that the attempt to convert Jews to Christianity is to betray the God whom they both worship. On their reasoning, Jews as individuals are, by definition, part of the Jewish people with whom God made covenant; they are already within the covenant and have no need to enter it in a different way. The attempt to convince them otherwise is an attempt to convince them to deny God’s covenant with Israel. The proper stance for Christians, therefore, is to understand as best they can what it means for Jews to live as obedient members of the Jewish people before the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. And, in the process, help Jews comprehend how it is that Christians — gentiles for the most part — can rightly worship that same God through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Do you feel this Jews for Jesus group(s) is a deceptive form of proselytizing? That they use vague and misleading language along with deceptive tactics in its attempt to convert Jews to Christianity?

The Catholic Church regards the saving act of Christ as central to the process of human salvation for all, it also believes that Jews already dwell in a saving covenant with God. … The distinctive Jewish witness must be sustained if Catholics and Jews are truly to be, as Pope John Paul II envisioned, “a blessing to one another.”

"Do you feel this Jews for Jesus group(s) is a deceptive form of proselytizing? That they use vague and misleading language along with deceptive tactics in its attempt to convert Jews to Christianity?
"

Yep- no doubt about it. It is a decpetive missionary group using lies and obfuscation, and relying on the victim’s ignorance , to convert Jews. It was started by a Baptist preacher for precisely that purpose, and it rewmains the central purpose of the movement.

As to the lie that Jews can mix anything with jduaism and remian Jewish- they cannot. teh moment that outside religious practices are brought into Judaism, it ceases to be Judaism and he people become apostates, outside of the Jewish community. There is no doubt about this in the Torah where it clearly excludes the person from the Jewish community, not allowing him to bring the Korban Pesach (Shmot (Exodus) Chapter 12 v43). There is no doubt about this in the Talmud where the study of external religions to incorporate them into Judaism is one of the reasons given for people being punished with kares (spiritual excision) in masechta Sanhedrin, Chapter Chelek Mishnah 1. There is no doubt about this in jewish law- from the ruling by Rambam in Mishneh tprah Hilchos Avodah Zara that such a person requires a full conversion to br ereadmitted tot he jewish community and the Rema in his glosses to the Shulkhan Aruch Yoreah Deah who makes the same ruling. There is no ambiguity in the modern rulings, including the one by HaRav Moshe feinstein zs"l who rules that they are outside the community and excluded completely- but that they may return without a full conversion given the modern environment and general lack of education amongst such converys.

My 16 year old daughter held a fund raiser (BBQ dinner after service) at our church to raise money for a ministry related trip. (There was no charge for the meal, but a donation basket was put out.) She competed on the district level in a Fine Arts Festival developed by our international fellowship and she advanced to the national level of competition. The fund raiser was to help with cost of the trip to compete at the national level. The total amount of money brought in by the fund raiser was deposited into the church account and then she was issued a check for that amount. The church issued her a 1099 Misc. form for 2007 for that same amount. The amount was $749.00, but we spent about $200.00 on the food for the meal. Is this taxable income? Taxable gift? or Non-taxable? The amount covered only a portion of her total expense for this trip.

Yes, this is taxable income to your daughter.

She gets to fill out a schedule C and–if she still has the receipts– can deduct the cost of food. At $549, her SE tax bill would be $78.

It is in no way tax deductible.

Hello!
I just need a bit of help with this situation.
I am a 15 year old Christian. I have a younger sister, an older brother and two parents.
My main concern is that I am not comfortable in my church.
I believe church is a place to fellowship, praise & worship God, Ministry etc..
But lately, I have not been getting anything out of it.
A few weeks ago, the main pastor said that he had to leave to go back to the "headquarters" church in the U.S.
His teachings made the message clear and enjoyable.
The people at my church don’t care if I’m there or not, and I do not feel spiritually connected to any of them.
Now that the ministry is gone, and the people are not spiritually fulfilling, I see no point in staying there.

Another issue is, I have vertigo/excessive dizziness, and it always appears at its worst on Sunday mornings.
My parents pressure me to go, but my condition and outlook on the church prevent me.
Then my dad says: "I saw that ‘Satan’ spirit with you for a ling time"
When he says stuff like that, I feel like going even less.
I want to be in a church where I’m comfortable in..please help!

Thomas
2:17 Jesus said to them: If you fast (ritually), you will beget sin for yourselves (Matt. 6), and if you pray (in churches), you will be condemned, and if you give alms (to the churches), you will do evil to your spirits. And if you go into any land and wander in the regions, if they receive you, eat what they set before you, heal the sick among them.

Enoch
58:1 Prince Michael the Archangel (Dan. 10:21; ch. 20:5) condemned and then decreed that The Judgement shall fall on CHURCH and STATE (Eze. 13:1-9; Matt. 23; Rev. 17:14; 19:2; Sura 3:64).

Matthew
6:5 And when thou prayest, thou shalt NOT be as the hypocrites [ARE]: for they love to pray standing in the churches and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen by men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.

This is not the teaching for Jesus.

Why can’t people continue to gather outdoors for ministry, as Jesus and his followers did ? Why does someone have to pay money, to have a relationship with God or fellowship ?

Thanks for input.

We are the physical church of the firstborn from the dead, Jesus. The church is not brick and mortar, but reborn spirit beings who now comprise the family of the Most High God. Thank God I am in that number. And it is available to all that will make Jesus lord.
